An Executive Coach is a qualified professional that works with professionals (usually executives, and often also high-potential employees) helping them gaining self-awareness, setting and achieving clear goals, overcome obstacles and act as a sounding board, unlocking their true potential.
The aim of Executive Coaching is to help professionals to clarify and implement their decisions, exploring new ways of thinking.

It’s an individually tailored practice in talent development and involves an open relationship between the Coach and the coachee.
During the coaching sessions,  the Coach can support leaders in understanding their status quo, focusing on the appropriate action plan in order to reach the desired professional goals.

Coaching is a client-driven process that differs from other professions such as counselling, mentoring, consulting and training.
According to the definition of the International Coach Federation (ICF) coaching is a partnership with a thought-provoking and creative process which inspires the client to maximise their personal and professional potential.

Benefits of Executive Coaching

Executive Coaching can help identify strengths and weaknesses, both individually and collectively, and help utilise this data to create actionable insights for the organisation. This can help ensure that executives are working to the best of their abilities within specific contexts.

Coaching can help keep executives in alignment with the bigger organisational goals and targets. This can be really important especially for technical executives whereby their day-to-day may be very task and detail orientated. Stepping back and looking at the broader goals and targets can ensure personal development targets, as well as the wider team or organisational targets.

Coaching can empower leaders and executives leading to the development of core leadership skills such as; communication, confidence, empathy and self-awareness. Coaching can also be really useful to promote work and personal well being and satisfaction, which is important to retain top talents.
